Injection Molded Trays for Medical Equipment
Seeking a more reliable supply of production quantity orders and plastic weight reduction, a customer in the medical industry contracted Sajar Plastics to manage a team of design consultants for the development and manufacturing of custom equipment trays. Converting from a structural foam process, our refined gas assisted injection molding method was implemented to produce the part, employing our advanced 700 ton injection molding press and Valox 420 material. This cost effective structural foam conversion produced a single smooth component panel that is easy to clean, with stiffness imparted from molded in ribs and gas channels. Mist coat painting obtained the desired finish. The revamped process eliminated expensive sanding, priming, and texture painting. The completed tray measured 20″ in length and 9″ in width; annual production quantities are 2,000 units.
