Injection Molded Protein Analyzer for Laboratory & Diagnostic Equipment
Sajar Plastics was contracted by a customer in the laboratory equipment industry to fabricate a custom protein analyzer. Formerly a metal part, Sajar performed a metal to plastic conversion to realize a number of economic and cosmetic benefits. The project started with custom colored ABS and utilized our 700 ton injection molding press, performing gas assist injection molding to meet the complex design of the part, eliminating multiple machining processes. This process maintains dimensional stability over long distances, and creates a cosmetically pleasing surface and profile. Electrostatic shielding was applied to reduce electrostatic charge and interference, and the part was masked for texture painting.
Our Branson 2000 iw sonic welder installs the required inserts, and the Tamp Print 150 pad printer applies the attractive logo. Overall measurements of the finished unit were 16″ in length, 14″ in width, and 6″ in height, featuring molded in ribs and bosses for added dimensional stability.
